REBECCA MORADALIZADEH (n.1989, Londres) artista plástica, performer e arte-educadora luso-iraniana, vive e trabalha no Porto.

 

É Mestra (2017) em Estudos Artísticos - Estudos Museológicos e Curatoriais pela Faculdade de Belas Artes da Universidade do Porto e em 2016/17 realizou um estágio integrado no Mestrado no Museu de Arte Contemporânea de Serralves no Porto, no Serviço de Artes Performativas. O tema da sua dissertação incidiu sobre os Vestígios da Performance no Museu. É Licenciada (2011) em Artes Plásticas - Multimédia, também pela Faculdade de Belas Artes da Universidade do Porto e frequentou o Programa Erasmus, em Fine Arts Context and Practice na Sheffield Hallam University, em Sheffield, Reino Unido.

 

Desde 2010 tem vindo a desenvolver a sua prática artística explorando a performance art, a videoarte, a instalação, a fotografia, o desenho e a gastronomia, focando-se em questões como identidade, género, migração, território, memória, família, arquivos e vestígios. Rebecca tem apresentado o seu trabalho em diversas exposições, festivais, artists talks e residências artísticas, tanto em espaços institucionais como independentes, em Portugal e no estrangeiro.

 

Em 2017 recebe o 2º prémio do Concurso Artes e Talentos da Fundação da Juventude com a proposta Archives Vivants, uma reflexão curatorial e artística sobre a preservação de vestígios da performance art.

 

Em 2015 iniciou LandMarks Series, um projeto de investigação autobiográfico relacionado com as suas origens iranianas onde combina as artes visuais, a performance art e a gastronomia. No âmbito deste projeto, em 2020 recebe a bolsa de investigação Reclamar Tempo e uma oportunidade de residência artística no Campus Paulo Cunha e Silva promovidas pelo Teatro Municipal do Porto; em 2022 o díptico fotográfico LandMarks #3. 1 – the process é selecionado pelo Projeco Aquisições - PLÁKA para integrar a Coleção Municipal de Arte Contemporânea do Porto, e é apresentado na exposição Derivas e Criaturas na Galeria Municipal do Porto e nesse mesmo ano apresenta Behind the Veil uma exposição individual com curadoria de Melissa Rodrigues na Rampa - Porto.

Em 2023 "SEH KHAK - Three Lands", projeto colaborativo com as artistas Roxanna Albayati e Golara Khalilinejad, recebe o apoio à criação artística CRIATÓRIO da PLAKA - Plataforma Municipal de Apoio à Arte Contemporânea do Porto. 

 

Como arte-educadora tem realizado workshops, visitas guiadas e aulas abertas tendo colaborado com os seguintes Projetos/Departamentos Educativos: Centro Cultural Vila Flor em Guimarães (2012); Centro de Arte da Oliva em S. João da Madeira (2018-2020); Talkie Walkie/Onda Amarela/Comédias do Minho em Monção (2018); Burilar no Porto (2019); Faculdade de Belas Artes da Universidade do Porto (2019); ESE – Escola Superior de Educação (2018/2022); Ping! na Galeria Municipal do Porto no Porto (2020-21); Circular - Associação Cultural em Vila do Conde (2021/22); Sismógrafo no Porto (2023).

REBECCA MORADALIZADEH

(b.1989, London) is a portuguese-iranian visual artist, performer and art educator that lives and works in Porto, Portugal.

Has a M.A. degree (2017) in Art Studies – Museum and Curatorial Studies by the Faculty of Fine Arts University of Porto and in 2016/17 did an internship integrated in the M.A at the Contemporary Art Museum of Serralves in Porto, in the Department of Performing Arts. The theme of her dissertation focused on the Vestiges of Performance in the Museum.

In 2011 finished her B.A. in Fine Arts – multimedia, also by the Faculty of Fine Arts University of Porto and attended the Erasmus Program, in Fine Arts Context and Practice at Sheffield Hallam University, in Sheffield, UK.

 

Since 2010 has been developing her artistic practice exploring performance art, videoart, installation, photography, drawing and gastronomy, focusing on issues such as identity, gender, migration, territory, memory, family, archives and vestiges.

Rebecca has presented her work in several exhibitions, festivals, artists talks and artistic residencies both in institutional and independent spaces, in Portugal and abroad.

In 2017 she receives the 2nd prize of the Competition “Concurso Artes e Talentos” from Fundação da Juventude with the proposal Archives Vivants, a curatorial and artistic reflection about the preservation of vestiges of performance art.

 

In 2015 initiated LandMarks Series, an autobiographical ongoing research project related to her Iranian origins combining visual arts, performance art and gastronomy. Within this project, in 2020 she receives the research grant Reclamar Tempo and an artistic residency opportunity at Campus Paulo Cunha e Silva promoted by Teatro Municipal do Porto; in 2022 the photography diptych LandMarks #3.1 – the process is selected by Projeto Aquisições – PLÁKA to be part of the Municipal Contemporary Art Collection of Porto, and is shown at the exhibition Derivas e Criaturas at Galeria Municipal do Porto and in that same year presents Behind the Veil a solo exhibition curated by Melissa Rodrigues at Rampa – Porto.

In 2023 the collaborative project with the artists Roxanna Albayati and Golara Khalilinejad about their three Iranian identity “Seh Khak – Three Lands” won “Criatório”, a grant from the municipality of Porto to be presented in 2024.

 

As an art educator she has led workshops, guided tours and classes with the following Educational Projects/Departments: Centro Cultural Vila Flor in Guimarães (2012); Centro de Arte da Oliva in S.
